The new liquefied natural gas-diesel dual fuel chemical tanker Ternsund was bunkered with LNG at the Port of Rotterdam this week, becoming the first sea-going vessel to take on the clean-burning fuel there. Terntank confirms the launch in China of its new Ternsund, the first of four new dual fuel liquefied natural gas-diesel product tankers for the Sweden- and Denmark-based operator. The ships with advanced hull design by Rolls-Royce Marine are being built by AVIC Dingheng in China.

Norway’s Skangass reports a contract to supply liquefied natural gas for LNG ships coming into charter operation for Finland’s NEOT in 2016. “The contract is valid for supply of LNG in the region of Lysekil-Gothenburg-Skaw [Skagen, Denmark],” Skangass says, “and is also one of the first ship-to-ship bunker contracts for LNG in Europe.” updated December 8
