And First LNG-Powered Cruise Ships for North America,
Both Are to Be ‘Fully Powered at Sea and in Port’ by LNG

Carnival Corp said this week that its Carnival Cruise Line is slated to take delivery of two new 180,000 gross-registered-ton, LNG-fueled cruise ships in 2020 and 2022. Also this week, Carnival said that its P&O Cruises UK unit will take delivery of an LNG-fueled ship in 2020, making for a corporate total of seven LNG ships on order.

In Addition to Dual Fuel, They’ll be the Largest Ever Guestwise

Miami-based Carnival Corp said today that it’s signed a multi-billion dollar contract to build four liquefied natural gas-fueled cruise ships. Weighing in at more than 180,000 gross tons, the four next-generation vessels will have “the largest guest capacity in the world,” the company says: total capacity of 6,600, with more than 5,000 lower berths – “the largest ever built.”
