Damia Desgagnés Launched at Besiktas Yard in Turkey:
The First of Four Wärtsilä-Powered Tankers for Canada

Quebec’s Groupe Desgagnés is trumpeting the successful launch of the first of four liquefied natural gas-diesel dual fuel tankers it’s building at the Besiktas shipyard in Turkey. M/T Damia Desgagnés was launched for further outfitting on June 11, and is expected to be delivered by year-end to transport 13,350 tons of asphalt-bitumen.

Newbuilds for Canada’s Desgagnés by Besiktas in Turkey

Parker Bestobell Marine is supplying cryogenic fuel gas valves for two tanker newbuilds for Groupe Desgagnés of Canada, the Parker Hannifin unit reports. The liquefied natural gas-fuel oil, dual fuel-powered ships are being built by the Besiktas Shipyard in Turkey, Bestobell says, noting that they are 15,000-dwt (deadweight-tonnage) ice-class 1A asphalt and bitumen tankers.
