‘First Time in History,’ Firm Says of Eagle Ford Work

Green Field Energy Services says it has successfully completed more than 60 fracturing stages using pumps powered exclusively by LNG. The work was done at wells in the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas, and marks “the first time in history that 100% liquefied natural gas was utilized as the only fuel source,” Green Field says.

Separately, GFES Reports Running Frack Pumps on Field Gas

Louisiana-based Green Field Energy Services, a specialist in turbine-driven hydraulic fracturing and drilling equipment, reports a global supplier agreement with GE Oil & Gas “to deliver low-cost, cleaner burning power generation solutions to the oil and gas industry” – using natural gas. GFES says it has run one of its turbine frack pump trucks on 100% field gas, and that it will begin trials with SandRidge Energy with Apache Corp soon.

Bi-Fuel Hydraulic Fracturing Pumps Run on Natural Gas or Diesel

Lafayette, La.-based Green Field Energy Services brought a Lycoming turbine-powered hydraulic fracturing pump truck to the HHP Summit, and said that it already has 64 of the units in service, enough to power four frack spreads.
