Agreement Reached for Two Vessels for Approximately 350 Million Euros

Spain’s Shipyard Construcciones Navales del Norte – La Naval – reports an agreement with operator Baleària for two new liquefied natural gas-diesel dual fuel ferries for an estimated cost of 350 million euros – some $388 million U.S. at current rates.

Holland’s Anthony Veder Group expects delivery this week of its first vessel with liquefied natural gas fuel tanks to enable dual fuel operation independent of the cargo. The 100-meter Coral Star, a 4,700-cubic-meter ethylene carrier, is to be delivered by Avic-Dingheng Shipbuilding, followed by a sister ship, Coral Sticho, during the second half of August. updated July 22

Would Go with LNG Dual Fuel with Partner Pon Power

Deen Shipping of Zwijndrecht (south of Rotterdam) is looking to convert its four diesel-powered barges to LNG-diesel dual fuel operation. The vessels would join Deen’s dual fuel MT Argonon, which according to Deen business development manager Ed de Jong “is the only one in Europe that is running on LNG.”
