Two 300-Cubic-Meter Type C Horizontal Tanks for High-Speed Ferry

Linde and its Swedish engineering subsidiary Cryo AB report a contract from Finland’s Meyer Turku Shipyard to build a liquefied natural gas fuel gas system for the next-generation high-speed ferry, for Tallink in Estonia.

Finland’s Viking Line is talking up the service entry of the Viking Grace, a 218-meter (715 feet), 2,800-passenger, 880-cabin, $320-million vessel said to be the world’s first large passenger ship to be LNG-fueled. Viking Grace is powered by four 8L50DF dual fuel main engines from Wärtsilä (also of Finland), and has an LNGPac Wärtsilä fuel system.

Linde Units Will Support Viking Line Operations in Stockholm

Two Swedish units of Linde are collaborating on LNG fueling in Stockholm harbor – Linde’s AGA has contracted with Linde’s Gas Cryo AB (and Norway’s Fiskestrand Verft) for a bunkering vessel to deliver liquefied natural gas to Viking Line cruise ferries.
