Crowley Enters LNG via Carib Energy

Small-Scale LNG Exports to FTA Countries to Start,
LNG Bunkering, Retrofits, Newbuilds Could Follow

Crowley Maritime’s Jacksonville-based petroleum services group is entering the liquefied natural gas business by acquiring Carib Energy. This year is to see exports of LNG to U.S. Caribbean customers via cargo ship-borne 10,000-gallon ISO containers. The future could see LNG bunkering as far afield as Alaska, and LNG retrofits and even newbuilds shepherded by Crowley’s Jensen Maritime unit.
