New Fueling Equipment in Norway and Denmark for Dedicated-LNG Ferries

Norway’s Fjord Line is beefing up the bunkering equipment for its two large dedicated-LNG cruise ferries, installing equipment and initiating new practices at both its Hirtshals (Denmark) and Risavika (Stavanger, Norway) facilities. The ferries currently fuel truck-to-ship at both locations.

Two Historic LNG Ferries in Denmark

Fjord Line photo as published by the Bergens Tidende newspaper shows the identical, Rolls-Royce Bergen-powered, dedicated-LNG sister ships Stavangerfjord and Bergensfjord moored at Hirtshals, Denmark. The newer Bergensfjord is to be christened in Bergen, Norway, on March 6, BT reported Tuesday. She is to enter service March 9.
