Norway’s Fjord Line has postponed the first sailing of the 100% LNG-fueled MS Stavangerfjord for three weeks, citing extra time needed to test “the most technically advanced equipment available.” The first regular run of the Rolls-Royce-powered vessel is now slated for June 21.

Cryonorm Will Support Dedicated-LNG Fjord Line Boats in Norway

Finland’s Viking Line is talking up the service entry of the Viking Grace, a 218-meter (715 feet), 2,800-passenger, 880-cabin, $320-million vessel said to be the world’s first large passenger ship to be LNG-fueled. Viking Grace is powered by four 8L50DF dual fuel main engines from Wärtsilä (also of Finland), and has an LNGPac Wärtsilä fuel system.
