San Diego’s GD Nassco has reported the start of work on an additional LNG-ready ship for American Petroleum Tankers and the first LNG-ready tanker for Seacor/Sea-Vista. Seacor has ordered three of the “Eco”-design ships while APT has ordered five.

GD Nassco to Build ‘Eco’ Design Tankers Starting Next Year,
But Given Bunkering Lack, LNG Power Is Unlikely Before 2020

San Diego-based General Dynamics Nassco reports a contract to build four 610-foot ships for American Petroleum Tankers. They are to be “LNG-conversion-ready,” meaning they can be converted to liquefied natural gas power when there is sufficient infrastructure to support their operations. updated June 11
