Testing Has Led to Approval Under UN ECE R110
Southern California-based Omnitek Engineering says it’s received international certification for its patented fuel rail technology for natural gas engine operation. The approval is based on tests conducted by an independent agency and standards sanctioned by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, specifically UN ECE R110, states a release.
“Our patented fuel rail technology, which houses the fuel injectors, is a key technology essential for achieving ultra-low emission levels with natural gas engines,” Omnitek president and CEO Werner Funk said in the certification announcement.
“The technology improves air/gas mixture formation, greatly reducing emissions while increasing fuel economy and engine power,” he said. The Omnitek modifications have been demonstrated in a 12-liter natural gas engine manufactured by the Czech Republic’s Tedom.
Approval Paves the Way for Orders
“This engine holds Euro VI emissions certification, which is now required in Europe and many countries around the world,” Funk said.
“We look forward to the acceleration of follow-on orders in the months ahead to numerous existing pilot programs in countries requiring EURO VI or ECE R110 certification,” he added.Contact information is only available to premium subscribers. Click here to purchase a premium subscription.
