The no-diesel fracking was conducted on an EQT well using gas supplied directly from the Marcellus.

“Our Turbine Frac Pump technology is unique in that it is capable of running on 100% natural gas, where others require the use of diesel,” said GFES president Rick Fontova.

“In addition,” he said, “our proprietary Turbine Frac Pumps meet all of the current EPA Tier IV level emissions standards.”

EQT notes that it launched a pilot program to converting drill rigs to natural gas last year, and to date has commissioned four. The first rig operates on LNG and three are powered by natural gas produced on site.
